Virgin mobile viral marketing
Virgin mobile and virginstudent are currently running a competition to win the chance of living in a house with three mates for a year rent free. Obviously this is a competition mainly aimed at student-types looking for a house.
What’s interesting about it isn’t the competition but they way they’ve marketed it to the student market, at the beginning they hired student reps to push it on students in their university’s and unions. We also had the rep for Surrey come into the Union asking permission to hand out flyers and take photos of the fresher week events for use on virginstudent which we denied.
